An eye opener

Hello Sage,

I understand that you have a deep love for animals and you have grown up in nature all your life. I can relate to this sentiment. I have always had a deep fascination with nature and possessed a deep appreciation for its beauty. I feel extremely blessed to walk into my backyard and just see a pond of the species I cherish most. I think your care for animals is supremely important and impactful, especially in such a time of need for the planet. I believe in care for mother earth and leaving it better and healthier than you found it. I try to live a pretty sustainable and fulfilling lifestyle in order to help the planet. Through my koi pond I try to encapsulate the beauty of nature within the small space that is my backyard. It is quite a peaceful and beautiful thing to wake up to every morning.

Anyways, back to what I was talking about, got a little off topic. Umm…oh yes, koalas. I am very glad to know that even though ⅓ of the koala population of New South Wales has died, they are not yet “functionally extinct”. It is very soothing to know that there is still some hope for their population.I think your effort to spread this message and weigh in on the conversation is very important. Including the PSA as well is very important. Being an informant for the people is a noble task to take up. I am glad to know now. I would not want to cause any harm to a koala if such things could be avoided. So I really appreciate the warning, not just to me but to everyone.

I hope that the situation in Australia improves and the bush fires and damage left behind from them will not continue to devastate the koala population. I would hate to see their wildlife population die in my lifetime or even in the lifetime of my children or my grandchildren. This planet is too important to brush aside and allow to be consumed by the emissions of large companies with the  interest of profit and instead of the health of the planet. I would hate to one day walk outside and go on hikes and no longer see beauty but just a shell of nature. Being constantly surrounded by beauty makes you forget that destructive and horrible events are occurring all around because of climate change. Thank you for keeping it on my mind. I would hate to live in a world that became unsuitable for my favorite animals to live. The sad truth is that this is already happening. My koi have not been damaged but one day they could be. I hope that the world will soon change and we will live in a safer place that is not so mucked up. A world that is not being demolished by natural disasters caused by our inaction. I wish for a cleaner and greener future.

Just a humble man,

Koi Lover
